Job Description:
Looking to make a positive, lasting impact on middle school and high school students? Interested in helping first-generation and recent immigrants navigate American educational systems? We are a premier academic and college planning institute looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and highly qualified individuals to take on an important role in our students' lives. 

Currently, we are hiring for two positions: College Planning Counselor & College Application Editor. Please see below and indicate which position(s) you are interested in pursuing.

The ideal candidates for both positions will possess:
-A desire for and love of working with kids
-Cultural competency to facilitate intercultural conversations and relationships
-Fluency with the college/graduate application and admissions processes.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
-The flexibility needed to work successfully with pre-teens and teenagers

The ideal College Planning Counselor will possess:
-In-depth and intimate knowledge of colleges, universities, and academic programs
-Exemplary research skills
-Fluency in California graduation requirements, as well as public and private university admission requirements
-Strategies for helping kids cultivate the social, emotional, and intellectual strengths and interests they'll need to thrive in school and beyond
-Knowledge of college admission trends and values
-Prior experience as a counselor, assisting students with admissions, and/or mentoring students in an academic context
-Understanding of the holistic counseling catered to the specific needs of each student
-Leadership and assertiveness to direct students and their families toward appropriate educational goals

The ideal College Application Editor will possess:
-Knowledge of effective and ineffective college application materials
-Exemplary writing and editing skills
-Strategies for coaching students to develop their ideas and writing
-Integrity to ensure students produce their own work
-Good time management skills

Key Requirements:
-An undergraduate degree from a top-tier university
-Master's degree (preferred)
-College Counseling Certificate (preferred)

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT       

 

Job Description

Under direct supervision, assist in providing administrative and clerical support. Draft and organize correspondence, schedule meetings, and receive parents and visitors.  Provide requested information, and maintain business records, files and office supplies.

 

Job Requirements

Requires 2 years of experience. Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) language required.
